Rejection & Love

Rejection and Love

Have you felt you're not acknowledged at work? Others seem to get those raises, and opportunities, while you feel unseen? Have you ever felt dismissed by your peers, partner or family members? Do you sometimes feel underappreciated and misunderstood by those you love? Or disrespected by your kids? Do you or your children feel you don't belong?

A client shared with me last week that her teenage son rarely responds to her texts, and it makes her feel invisible. Another one shared that her 8 year old girl doesn't have happy friendships at school. A yoga teacher shared that when he opens his door to classes, he has a deep dark feeling of inadequacy when all the seats aren't filled. A friend shared she doesn't know who her tribe is. When you dig deep, past the annoyance, the anger, the hurt and frustration -- a feeling of inadequacy and rejection is uncovered.

Even contemporary leaders have identified that the biggest ailment plaguing human society is this feeling, "I am not good enough." The feeling of inadequacy seeps through all rungs of society.

All these are examples of a broken connection of pure love: sambandha. Every soul has an intrinsic eternal connection with themselves and their Inner Parents. With that pure connection, they can know their radiant purpose, what their mark will be and where they belong. There are many strategies shared in Leadership Parenting courses to reestablish this deep connection. One initial strategy is awareness of rejection language in your life. ( _See attached image.)_

Do you allow reject thoughts about yourself? Do you let others speak reject statements to you? How often do you use reject statements to your children, your spouse, your coworkers? Which ones do you use most frequently?

Through deep study of Saint Gaura, I found that He didn't even slightly reject those who rejected Him. He lifted up the proud scholar Kashmiri who came to humiliate him. He honored the tyrant magistrate Kazi who broke instruments and threatened the devotees. Even the way the gangsters Jagai and Madhai were boosted by Saint Nitai --- it's a phenomenal meditation with much awakening for us all. How were They able to eradicate these reject spaces and manifest pure love all around Them?

Start by lessening your rejection statements, first to yourself, then to others. Next, fill your spaces with the kinds of words Saints Gaura and Nitai used. You are meant to turn reject spaces into pure love, as is the deep need in our world today.
